BESS_Two Projects Germany

GOLDBECK SOLAR signed a contract and received the Notice to Proceed for the construction of two BESS projects with a combined power and capacity of 100 MW / 300 MWh

Hirschberg a. d. Bergstraße , April 28, 2026 – GOLDBECK SOLAR has commenced the implementation of two BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) facilities with a total power and energy capacity of approximately 100 MW / 300 MWh in Germany. The contracts were concluded under a full EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) model, covering system design, supply of equipment and components, construction execution, and a 15-year long-term service agreement (LTSA).

The installation features a cutting-edge energy storage system designed to operate on an approximately 3-hour cycle. The project will connect directly to the high-voltage grid via on-premises 110kV substations.

The project will contribute to increasing the stability of the power system and supporting the energy transition through the integration of renewable energy sources with modern energy storage infrastructure.

“We are very happy about the order and the trust that the Customer has placed in us,” says Steffen Emmerich, Managing Director of Goldbeck Solar Polska, who is responsible for project execution on behalf of Goldbeck Solar GmbH. “Not only is this one of our first utility-scale BESS projects, it is also the first time we will implement a 110 kV grid connection, including a substation, from planning to commissioning”

This project represents a significant step in the development of GOLDBECK SOLAR’s activities in the large-scale energy storage sector. The investment aligns with the company’s long-term technological diversification strategy, under which alongside large-scale photovoltaic power plants, it is consistently expanding its competencies in energy storage solutions.
