GOLDBECK SOLAR and ENCAVIS AG celebrate groundbreaking ceremony for 30 MWp La Florida HIVE solar park in Dos Hermanas, Seville

La Florida HIVE solar plant to supply green electricity for over 17,900 households from 2026

GOLDBECK SOLAR, a leading provider of turnkey construction of industrial, commercial and large-scale photovoltaic systems, has celebrated the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony for the La Florida HIVE solar park in Dos Hermanas, Seville, Andalusia, together with ENCAVIS AG, one of Europe’s leading independent producers of electricity from renewable energy.

A photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 30.050 MWp is being built on an area of 45 hectares – a significant milestone in GOLDBECK SOLAR’s Spanish solar strategy. After the planned commissioning in June 2026, the ground-mounted system will produce around 62,722 MWh of clean electricity per year – enough to supply more than 17,900 households in a climate-friendly manner. At the same time, the operation will save around 26,343 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.

Ideal location for solar energy

“Andalusia is an important market for us with ideal solar radiation values of 8.5 hours of sunshine per day on average and ambitious targets for the energy transition,” emphasizes Tobias Schüßler, Managing Director of GOLDBECK SOLAR. “With La Florida HIVE, we are sending a strong signal for local energy independence and actively contributing to the decarbonization of Europe. Projects like this are essential for shaping a sustainable energy future.”

State-of-the-art components and network connection

In addition to the solar plant, the La Florida HIVE project also includes the construction of a 132 kV high-voltage switchgear and a 3-kilometre-long high-voltage overhead line, which will ensure a reliable feed-in to the grid. To implement the project, 43,362 bifacial solar modules on tracked tracker systems and 74 inverters will be used to ensure maximum energy yields. Completion is planned for June 2026.

Expansion of the Spanish portfolio with a strong partner

“We are delighted to be implementing another solar park together with Encavis,” says Miguel Velasco, Head of Profit Center Iberamerica at GOLDBECK SOLAR. “This project underlines our strategy of consistently expanding our portfolio in Spain and making a sustainable contribution to the decarbonization of Europe.”

With the start of construction on April 29, 2025, the success story for the expansion of renewable energies in Spain will continue – in the spirit of a sustainable, independent and green energy future.
