Annual Report 2020/2021: GOLDBECK SOLAR looks back on a successful financial year

GOLDBECK SOLAR is also confident about the future after a successful 2020/2021 financial year.

GOLDBECK SOLAR specializes in consulting, planning, installation and maintenance of commercial solar systems and is benefiting from the booming trend towards clean energy generation. This resulted in a very positive development in the 2020/2021 financial year, which ended on March 31, 2021.

Annual report 2020/2021: Significant increase in turnover

With a volume of 180 million euros, sales at GOLDBECK SOLAR have increased significantly despite the coronavirus pandemic. This growth is primarily due to the realization of major projects in the Netherlands and Germany. These include Stadskanaal (101,000 kWp), Buinerveen (45,000 kWp) and Weierweiler II (20,000 kWp). The investment in Zonnepark Services B.V. in the Netherlands adds more than 1 GWp to the Operations & Maintenance order books in the Netherlands. The company was also able to realize two important projects in Mexico: Autodromo and Mann+Hummel, which were the first projects with solar trackers (a sunlight-following technology that regulates the position of solar modules). The planning and execution of these international projects went very well despite the pandemic. In addition, the GOLDBECK SOLAR Group made a strategic investment in Premium Mounting Technologies (PMT) , based in Stadtsteinach, for the further development of the GOLDBECK SOLAR product portfolio.

Restrictions due to corona

Despite healthy organic growth, the pandemic has nevertheless led to restrictions. In particular, delays in the delivery of modules from China and electrical components from Europe as well as travel restrictions for employees have hampered project plans. “Thanks to flexible, targeted action, we were still able to successfully implement all projects within the cost and time budgets,” explains Managing Director Joachim Goldbeck.

Attractive starting conditions

Due to the growing awareness of companies and politicians to act in favor of the environment, expectations for the new financial year are high. GOLDBECK SOLAR also expects stable growth in the future. The company will continue to work towards ensuring the generation of clean energy at the best prices in the long term. The solar expert has already secured a number of projects in the Netherlands, Germany, Chile and Mexico, which will ensure sufficient capacity utilization in the new financial year. Only the current bottlenecks on the global commodity markets could affect the good prospects for the industry and the company. A particular focus in the 2021/2022 financial year will be on the Polish market, which is just beginning to replace fossil fuel power plants with clean power generation. GOLDBECK SOLAR is contributing to healthy solar growth in Poland with major projects such as Zwartowo, which will be the largest photovoltaic power plant in Central and Eastern Europe with a total output of 290 MWp.

Prepared for the future

Confidence in the order situation and strong growth are also leading to an increase in the number of employees at GOLDBECK SOLAR. The company is constantly on the lookout for employees who want to help shape the energy transition.
