HeliomatiX

Industrialising Utility-Scale Solar Plant Construction

HeliomatiX

HeliomatiX is an automation system developed by GOLDBECK SOLAR that redefines how utility scale solar parks are built; with robotic precision, autonomous logistics, and full-process integration from assembly to installation, enabling faster execution, higher safety standards, and consistently high quality.

At its core, HeliomatiX combines three key components:

  • AssemblyHub – A mobile, containerized pre-assembly unit on site that -assembles module elements consisting of the module rails and up to four modules in portrait mode. Designed for high-efficiency, zero-waste operation, it checks each module for damage, scans serial numbers, and clamps them securely — all before they leave the factory.
  • Crawlers – An autonomous, electric transport vehicles that carries these pre-assembled elements to the installation area- even over uneven or muddy terrain.
  • AMoS (Automatic Mounting System) – A robotic excavator that uses sensors and a precision gripper to place each element onto the substructure- fully automated!

Together, these components create a streamlined, weather independent construction workflow. HeliomatiX reduces reliance on manual labour, improves installation consistency and quality, and sets a new benchmark for efficiency and reliability in solar park construction.

How It Works

AssemblyHub (Containerized)

Solar modules and module rails are pre-assembled into install-ready elements. Quality checks and serial number scans of the modules are conducted automatically.

Autonomous Crawler

Electric vehicles that transport elements across the site, navigating slopes, mud, and harsh conditions, day or night and in all weather conditions.

AMoS (Automated Mounting System)

Mounts up to 4 modules at once with precision alignment and laser-based scanning — minimizing errors and increasing speed.

Why It Matters

01

Labor Independent

Addresses skilled labor shortages and reduces on-site personnel requirements. This innovation reduces the labor required for module assembly upto 85%, while simultaneously increasing speed, maintaining consistent quality, and improving occupational safety.

02

Operation Cost Reduction

HeliomatiX reduces the amount of full-time labourers which significantly reduces costs related to wages, travel, accommodation, labour regulation compliance. The higher speed of module assembly can shorten the overall construction time, leading to further savings and a general competitive advantage.

03

All-Weather Operation

Works in heat, cold, snow, rain or darkness, enabling longer shifts and consistent performance.

04

Faster Commissioning

The higher speed of module assembly can shorten the overall construction time, leading to further savings, earlier commissioning and a general competitive advantage.

05

Environmental Efficiency

Reduces the impact on the ground by reducing the number transport operations, lower CO2 and noise emissions through the use of electric drives, and avoidance of packaging waste in the field by concentrating unpacking processes at the AssemblyHub.

06

Consistent Quality

Machine-based assembly eliminates human error, ensures repeatable and documented precision, and captures installation data digitally.

Who Benefits

Investors

  • Faster project execution = earlier commissioning = earlier revenue, Weather-independent = predictable timelines, Quality assurance with automated, repeatable precision

EPCs

  • Manpower shortage mitigation, Fewer staff on site, fewer logistics and H&S issues, Compatible with fixed-tilt and Agri-PV installation (tracker)

Environment

  • Less noise, lower emissions, reduced on-site transport, and cleaner sites with minimal disruption

What Makes It Unique?

Unlike partial automation available in the market, HeliomatiX covers the full module installation chain: from pre-assembly to field logistics to robotic mounting. This also includes automated positioning of module elements, which is not the case with most other solutions.

FAQ

HeliomatiX is a fully integrated automation system for the installation of modules and parts of the racking system in utility-scale solar park construction. It combines a mobile, containerized AssemblyHub, Autonomous Crawlers, and a Robotic Mounting unit (AMoS) to automate module installation.

Depending on the table configuration (2P, 3P, or 4P), site layout and conditions, one line of HeliomatiX can install up to1920 modules (4P) per shift (8h), with minimal workforce.

The system is designed for rapid deployment. The AssemblyHub can be installed and fully operational in one working day. Crawlers and AMoS can begin operation immediately after system check and basic calibration.

HeliomatiX will be deployed on GOLDBECK SOLAR internal projects to validate and refine the system. Starting in 2028, the system will be available to the general market as a service.
