GOLDBECK SOLAR Implements Sorair Drone Automation at UK Solar Farm

Hirschberg a.d. Bergstraße, 10.02.2026 – GOLDBECK SOLAR is deploying the Soranet Pilot™ drone automation software from Sorair Technologies at a site near Northamptonshire, working alongside top UK security provider ASEL (Argenbright Security Europe Limited).

This deployment marks a milestone for GOLDBECK SOLAR, which is introducing Sorair Technologies’ drone automation at a solar farm site, while at the same time supporting them in expanding its portfolio to include its first solar farm use case and a broader range of applications for the Soranet™ platform.

Improving Security & Facilities Management On Solar Farms Under Sorair Flight School

With this deployment, GOLDBECK SOLAR is advancing security and facilities management at its solar farms through operations conducted under Sorair Flight School, which operates under their CAA‑recognised Operational Authorisation for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.

Since their UK-Wide approvals from the CAA in 2025, Sorair has been able to self declare its BVLOS activities under a UK-wide Visual Mitigation (VM) framework, in full alignment with CAA regulations. GOLDBECK SOLAR will start its operations using the BVLOS (VM) framework and will then graduate to performing full-BVLOS operations under the CAA’s BVLOS (AAE) Atypical Air Environments framework once authorisation has been granted from the CAA.

Sorair received its first grouped atypical approvals in the UK from the CAA in November 2025 and will apply the same strategy and framework to deliver on the approvals for GOLDBECK SOLAR. Further information on our BVLOS AAE permits can be found here.

Stakeholder Involvement – Sorair, ASEL and GOLDBECK SOLAR

This deployment and ongoing operations involve 4 stakeholders:

– Sorair Technologies – Developers of the Soranet Pilot™ – a drone automation software, as well as authorised representatives for all BVLOS operations under Sorair flight school.

ASEL – A Top 10 renowned UK security technology/guarding company specialising in integrated security solutions that is a certified DJI distributor & installer for DJI Enterprise, including Dock systems. (www.asel.co.uk)

GOLDBECK SOLAR – An international company specialising in the turnkey construction and O&M services of industrial, commercial, and large photovoltaic systems. The range of services covers the entire value chain from project development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the plant to selective project financing. (www.goldbecksolar.com)

SiteMark – The developers of the SiteMark AI analytics software used to identify which solar panels are defective, faulty or broken, so that site managers can proactively respond and schedule engineers to fix the issues. .(www.sitemark.com)

Soranet x SiteMark – How does it work in practice?

As part of GOLDBECK SOLAR’s operational approach, drones perform their routine patrols directly over the solar panels, capturing detailed images of each panel. The images are gathered together in a 2D orthomosaic and processed by SiteMark’s AI analytics software and thermal image layering to detect defects in the solar panels.

‘Maintaining a proactive approach to solar panel inspections is the best way to ensure that the site operates at optimal levels, keeping energy generation and storage at peak levels throughout the lifecycle of the solar farm.’ – Nick Bartlett, O&M Manager at GOLDBECK SOLAR

“ASEL already operates an impressive portfolio of solar farms, with robust measures in place for both temporary and permanent security. The introduction of DJI Dock systems represents a true step-change in how these sites are managed. This technology will not only redefine security patrol and rapid response capabilities but also empower O&M teams to maintain assets of such vast size, scope, and scale with unprecedented efficiency and precision.” — Frazer Clark, Transformation & Strategy Director.

Closing Remarks

‘This deployment is a major opportunity for Sorair to demonstrate the breadth of industries that can benefit from drone automations for security, plus facilities management procedures. We look forward to building on these learnings — continuing to develop safe, compliant, and scalable drone solutions that support the next generation of solar farm facilities management and site security operations.’ – Kunmi Oludoyi, CEO of Sorair Technologies.
