GOLDBECK SOLAR successfully completes construction of the 37 MWp solar park in Wunsiedel

GOLDBECK SOLAR is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Wunsiedel solar park. With an installed capacity of 37 MWp, the plant will generate around 38,584 MWh of clean electricity annually, which is enough to supply around 9,500 households with sustainable energy. The solar park, which was built on an area of around 25 hectares in Wunsiedel, Bavaria, saves around 15,000 tons of CO2 annually and thus makes an important contribution to climate protection.

The project was implemented in close cooperation with the client Münch Energie and represents an innovative solution for solar power generation due to its special design. The solar park consists of four different sub-fields with different alignments. Two fields are built according to the classic south-facing concept, while the other two were built according to an east-west concept. This combination optimizes solar radiation throughout the day, increasing the system’s overall efficiency.

“We are very proud to have completed our first joint project with Münch Energie with the Wunsiedel solar park,” explains Tobias Schüßler, COO of GOLDBECK SOLAR. “This collaboration demonstrates once again how innovative concepts can contribute to the energy transition. The combination of different orientations of the solar modules not only optimizes power generation, but also supports more stable grid operation. The Wunsiedel solar park saves approximately 15,000 tons of CO2 annually, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable energy supply”

Construction of the solar park began in September 2023, and its scheduled completion in April 2024 represents another successful project in GOLDBECK SOLAR’s long history. The plant contributes to the local and regional supply of renewable energy and stands as a milestone for both the municipality of Wunsiedel and the Upper Franconia region.
