Start of construction for a 7,320.90 kWp ground-mounted system in Amberg: a photovoltaic system is being built here on 7.3 hectares, which will supply around 2,000 households with solar power.
Construction of the new ground-mounted solar plant in Amberg in the Upper Palatinate began in mid-July with the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. Over the coming months, a solar park is to be built on an area of 7.3 hectares, which with its 7,320.90 kWp will be able to supply around 2,000 households. This will save 4700 tons of CO2 per year in the region.
“In these times, the construction of a solar power plant is more important than ever,” emphasizes Sebastian Kögel from GOLDBECK SOLAR. “The construction of the solar power plant in Amberg is a clear signal for renewable energies and the energy independence of this region. This new solar power plant will ensure local clean energy production, strengthen the region’s energy independence and ensure decentralized production. We are pleased that we can contribute to achieving our customers’ goals. Together for a sustainable region.”
With the support of GOLDBECK SOLAR, Stadtwerke Amberg and the region are taking another step towards an energy self-sufficient future with the construction of the solar park. A contribution to the energy transition. “The events of this year have made us acutely aware of this: Renewable energies are a mainstay of our future energy supply,” emphasizes Amberg’s Lord Mayor Michael Cerny. Against this backdrop, the construction of ground-mounted photovoltaic systems is not only sensible and desirable, but urgently needed.
