Solar roof Ladenburg: Solar project by neska and RheinEnergie goes into operation

More sustainable logistics at neska: RheinEnergie and GOLDBECK SOLAR have built their largest joint rooftop PV system to date with the Ladenburg solar roof. The modules on the three logistics halls of the neska Group in Ladenburg near Mannheim generate an output of around 3,750 kWp.

neska reduces energy costs andCO2 consumption with Ladenburg solar roof

A sustainable solution for the logistics infrastructure – that was the declared goal of logistics service provider neska, a company from the Logistics & Intermodal division of the HGK Group. After a construction period of four months, the project was officially inaugurated on September 1, 2022. 750 kW will then flow directly into the modern multi-user logistics center operated by neska. Geared towards the regional customer structure with many pharmaceutical and chemical companies, neska offers cooling for many of the approximately 70,000 pallet spaces in the logistics center. In future, neska will cover the resulting increase in energy requirements with the new photovoltaic system and at the same time reduce the calculatedCO2 consumption of its own infrastructure by around ten percent.

The remaining 3,000 kWp will be fully fed into the public grid in accordance with the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). With an expected electricity production of 3,700,000 kWh per year, more than 1,000 four-person households can be supplied with green energy.

Another project by GOLDBECK SOLAR and RheinEnergie

“Photovoltaics pays off. It creates self-sufficiency, is good for the environment and is also economical,” says Achim Südmeier, Chief Sales Officer of RheinEnergie AG. “We’re not waiting for politicians. We are doing it”. For RheinEnergie, the PV system for neska is another project that they have successfully implemented with the Hirschberg-based EPC company GOLDBECK SOLAR. “As RheinEnergie, we have already realized several projects with GOLDBECK SOLAR. The cooperation has always been very cooperative. This was also the case with the rooftop PV system for neska. And it certainly won’t be the last project,” summarizes Niklas Deußer, project developer at RheinEnergie.
