The impressive project spans ten roofs of the DHG logistics company Smartlog Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. GOLDBECK SOLAR is building the solar power plant, the 25 MWp installed capacity, for Sunrock.
GOLDBECK SOLAR is expanding its activities in the Netherlands with another major project. In the coming months, a huge solar roof project with an installed capacity of 25 MWp will be built on 210,000 square meters of developed land. The Smartlog Maasvlakte project covers ten roofs of the logistics company DHG in the port area of Rotterdam.
The client for the Maasvlakte project is a partner with whom GOLDBECK SOLAR has already worked well on several occasions: Sunrock from Amsterdam. The buildings on which the solar modules are to be installed were realized by the Dutch branch of GOLDBECK Bau. In view of the scarcity of space for photovoltaic projects in the Netherlands, this was the right way to cover all possible roof areas in order to achieve the goals of the energy transition. This ensured from the outset that the buildings were designed for solar use. Synergies that help to ensure that the result will meet the high standards of all parties involved.
At the end of May, the construction of the solar on the Maasvlakte started. “A particularly exciting project, not only because of its size, but also because of its unique location,” describes Tobias Friedrich, Head of GOLDBECK SOLAR Netherlands. “Das Logistikzentrum wurde auf einer gewonnenen Landzunge errichtet, das Nordseeklima mit viel Wind, Sand und natürlich salzhaltiger Luft stellt hohe Ansprüche an die Solarmodule.” Herausforderungen, auf die das niederländische Team bestens vorbereitet ist. Noch in diesem Jahr soll das Projekt übergeben werden können.
