Inauguration of the Zwartowo solar park

The first stage of the largest solar power plant in Central and Eastern Europe with a capacity of 204 MWp completed

With the ceremonial inauguration of the Zwartowo solar park on September 27 in the presence of the region’s local authorities and a large number of guests, the first phase of the largest solar park in Central and Eastern Europe has been completed. During the event, the investors expressed their satisfaction with the successful completion of the first construction phase of the park with a capacity of 204 MWp.

The investors of SPV Stigma Sp z.o.o., Joachim Goldbeck, President of the GOLDBECK SOLAR Group, and Sebastian Jabłoński from Respect Energy, have made the realization of this major investment possible. They have pledged to continue the expansion of the solar plant, which is planned for a further 86 MWp. This should bring the total to 290 MWp by 2023. The investors have also announced a possible expansion of the project to up to 350 MWp.

Archaeological excavations in Zwartowo

Interesting features of the project were highlighted during the speeches. In particular, archaeological excavations were carried out, the remains of which date back to the 3rd century BC. On an area of 17 hectares, 933 archaeological artifacts were excavated, enriching the cultural heritage of Poland.

Significance of the Zwartowo solar park

Joachim Goldbeck announced that projects to improve species diversity and biodiversity are also planned for the site. “Promoting biodiversity together with generating clean energy is the best combination to support the environment.” The success of the Zwartowo project has set the bar high, as it is not only competitive as a sustainable energy power plant, but also in terms of biodiversity. Zwartowo is of great importance for Central and Eastern Europe. For Poland in particular, the solar park makes an important contribution to achieving its own climate protection goals and energy independence. More than 90,470 households can be supplied with green electricity and CO2 emissions can be reduced by around five million tons during the project period. In addition to the capital provided by Joachim Goldbeck and Respect Energy, the GOLDBECK SOLAR Group was able to obtain successful financing from the EBRD and the two largest Polish banks, PKO BP and Bank Pekao.
