Creacombe + Marlands Solar Farm is Goldbeck Solar’s first subsidy-free project with an installed capacity of 7.3 MWp in the UK market.
Goldbeck Solar has successfully returned to the UK market with its first subsidy-free solar installation. This confirms the EPC company’s competitiveness in the solar market. The Creacombe + Marlands Solar Farm in Yealmpton near Plymouth is Goldbeck Solar’s first subsidy-free solar project in the UK. After four months of construction, the plant has now been officially opened and is generating 7,640 MWh per year to supply the surrounding households and industry with green energy.
The UK is also pursuing a plan to rely more on renewable and therefore environmentally friendly energy. As a result, Goldbeck Solar was awarded the contract to build a solar plant on farmland near Yealmpton. As Goldbeck Solar is a German company, Brexit in particular initially caused uncertainty prior to construction. However, the Hirschberg-based company was able to dispel all concerns and successfully implement the project. The installed Canadian Solar KuMax Poly 365W modules now produce around 7,640 MWh per year, reducing annual CO2 emissions by around 2,000 tons.
The new solar farm not only belongs to investors, but also to the community in the surrounding areas of Newton & Noss, Holbeton, Yealmpton, Wembury and Brixton. This makes the acceptance of the project particularly high. The pastureland on which the facility is located will continue to be used for agricultural purposes with species-rich grasses and wild plants. The system therefore also blends in well visually with its surroundings. With the Creacombe + Marlands Solar Farm, Goldbeck Solar has proven that it is also ready for the British market and can successfully implement its mission of building environmentally friendly solar systems worldwide. At the same time, the experienced company shows that it can also react competently to different requirements in order to complete the project successfully.
