As one of the world’s leading providers of renewable energy solutions, GOLDBECK SOLAR took part in the renowned Ukraine Recovery Conference in June, which was attended by high-ranking executives and representatives from over 60 countries.
GOLDBECK SOLAR was invited as part of the German delegation representing German companies at the Ukraine Recovery Conference. The conference is the central forum for the international community to mobilize global support for the economic and social stabilization and reconstruction of Ukraine, including the financing of private sector participation in the reconstruction process. The conference, which was opened by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, was attended by influential figures such as Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State, as well as British and Ukrainian Members of Parliament.
An important highlight of the conference was the signing of a memorandum between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and 19 development finance institutions (DFIs). This memorandum creates a common platform for co-financing investments in Ukraine, with a focus on the private sector of the economy. Such joint efforts are intended to promote sustainable growth and long-term prosperity in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government also announced ambitious targets for the expansion of the renewable energy sector. A new target for the annual installation of 4 GW of photovoltaic systems was announced, accompanied by significant targets for the expansion of wind energy, hydrogen production facilities and the modernization and improvement of the electricity grid. These targets reflect Ukraine’s unwavering commitment to the transition to a clean and sustainable energy landscape.
