GOLDBECK SOLAR inaugurates two solar parks in Chile: Paillihue and Laja

GOLDBECK SOLAR inaugurated its first two solar parks in the Biobío region of Chile on December 6. The opening ceremony of the Paillihue and Laja solar power plants took place on December 6, 2023 in the presence of official representatives of the region and representatives of various companies from the energy sector.

With an installed capacity of 12.09 MWp, the Paillihue solar park marks an important milestone in GOLDBECK SOLAR’s commitment to the generation of renewable energy in Chile. The solar plant has 22,176 bifacial panels and two central inverters, which enable the efficient production of 23.3 GWh/year of clean energy. This sustainable energy supply is expected to supply around 10,000 households and at the same time save around 9,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. The Laja solar park, which is also located in the province of Biobío, has an installed capacity of 11.67 MWp and makes an important contribution to the supply of clean energy. Laja has 21,616 bifacial panels, which ensure an efficient production of 21.2 GWh/year. This can supply around 9,500 households and save around 8,500 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Chile focuses on renewable energies

“Solar energy plays a major role in power generation worldwide. That’s why we focus on large-scale projects and support them from the initial project idea to the operation of the plants. In doing so, we take into account the needs of local residents and attach great importance to the harmony of nature and biodiversity,” explains Miguel Velasco, responsible for Iberoamerica at GOLDBECK SOLAR. With the inauguration of the Paillihue and Laja solar parks, GOLDBECK SOLAR is not only setting technological standards, but also demonstrating its commitment to the sustainable development of Chile. Pedro Aravena, Project Manager Iberoamerca at GOLDBECK SOLAR: “The completion of these first two solar parks Paillihue and Laja shows two things: Firstly, renewable energies are not the future, but the present of any energy system that prioritizes sustainability. And secondly, we have been able to demonstrate to the communities our commitment and focus on quality and mutual support”.
