We are happy to answer the most frequently asked questions about the solar industry and GOLDBECK SOLAR here.
GOLDBECK SOLAR offers a complete range of services for the construction of solar plants. We focus on photovoltaic projects from 30 MWp for open spaces and from 1 MW for solar roofs. Our services cover the entire value chain of a solar project: from project development and engineering to the construction and commissioning of the systems through to ongoing maintenance and servicing as well as the sale of clean electricity. We also integrate battery storage systems to further optimize the efficiency of the solar park.
Large solar parks offer significant advantages, both for investors and the environment. Solar plants enable attractive returns through the sale of electricity and long-term PPA contracts. At the same time, they help to reduce CO2 emissions and promote energy independence by strengthening local energy supply and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The high scalability of solar parks allows for flexible adaptation to different energy demands, while the dual use of the land offers additional economic benefits. In combination with battery storage systems, solar parks contribute to grid stability. They have a long service life of 25 to 30 years, which ensures stable yields in the long term.
GOLDBECK SOLAR offers battery energy storage systems that are sustainable, well thought-out, profitable and individually tailored to the needs of our customers. We support our customers along the entire value chain of their storage projects – from project development, procurement and implementation through to maintenance of the energy storage system. Stand-alone battery storage systems can relieve the load on grids and thus stabilize them while maintaining a high level of economic efficiency and flexibility.

On the financial side, GOLDBECK SOLAR provides cost optimization, revenue and expense management and detailed financial reporting. These integrated services are designed to maximize the return on your investment and minimize long-term operating costs.
GOLDBECK SOLAR offers comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for solar installations. This service includes regular inspections, precise fault diagnosis, fast repairs and detailed performance analysis. The aim is to maximize the service life and efficiency of your system and ensure that it always functions optimally. GOLDBECK SOLAR thus guarantees reliable performance of your solar system and minimizes downtimes, while also ensuring a long service life for the system.
GOLDBECK SOLAR is the partner who accompanies you all the way to your solar project. We are happy to support you with your financing project by preparing the relevant documents for your bank to explain the project and confirm its profitability. Together we invest in a greener future.
GOLDBECK SOLAR is active in several countries worldwide and offers its services for the construction of photovoltaic systems in various markets. In Europe, we are active in Germany, Austria, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom (UK). In North America in the United States (USA) and Canada. In Latin America, our presence includes Mexico, Chile and the Dominican Republic, while in Asia we implement projects in Thailand and Kazakhstan.
We have been developing and building photovoltaic systems of the highest quality and reliability since 2001. Our customers benefit from our many years of experience and our technical and organizational expertise. Systems planned and implemented for sustainable use are characterized by reliable performance and efficiency. Through regular maintenance, real-time monitoring and the use of advanced analysis tools, GOLDBECK SOLAR actively ensures that your solar system works as planned over the long term and achieves high returns.
GOLDBECK SOLAR also builds Agri-PV systems. Agri-photovoltaics (Agri-PV) combines the agricultural use of land with solar power generation. By installing solar modules on agricultural land, farmers can generate income from both agriculture and energy production. GOLDBECK SOLAR develops customized solutions to efficiently combine the harvesting of food and solar energy.
Sunlight is free and almost always available. The sun is therefore one of the central energy sources for a future-proof and sustainable energy system. Solar energy is also a sustainable and environmentally friendly source of energy. It reduces CO2 emissions, reduces dependence on fossil fuels and thus contributes to achieving climate targets.
Photovoltaic systems have a technical service life of around 25 to 30 years. After 20 years, they usually still deliver around 80 % of their original output. Many operators decide to continue using the system and repower it, i.e. fit it with new solar modules. Old modules can be recycled, whereby valuable materials such as glass and metals are recovered. GOLDBECK SOLAR also offers these services.
Solar parks can be built on agricultural land, conversion areas (former industrial or military sites) and areas along transportation routes. However, the choice of location must comply with certain legal framework conditions, such as the land use plan and local approval by the authorities. Roof areas of commercial and industrial buildings also offer enormous potential for solar roofs.
With 56 GW installed in the EU in 2023, this is the best solar year in the history of the EU to date. With an installed capacity of 14 GW in 2023, Germany is the largest solar market in Europe. There are several thousand solar parks in Germany, which together provide an installed capacity of over 68 gigawatts (as of 2024). This figure is growing steadily as more and more investments are being made in renewable energies to support the energy transition.
Solar power can be stored in battery storage systems that provide energy on demand. These storage solutions can be used at both industrial and private level. In addition, surplus solar power can be fed into the public grid or used to produce green hydrogen, which serves as long-term storage.
Photovoltaic systems are considered to be very safe if they are installed and maintained professionally. The modules themselves do not contain any hazardous substances and the risk of electrical accidents is minimal. Modern safety precautions such as monitoring systems and circuit breakers are nevertheless necessary, as they further minimize the risk of fire and accidents.
Investing in a solar park can be very lucrative, as the cost of generating solar power is continuously falling while the demand for renewable energy is increasing. Stable and predictable returns can be achieved through government subsidies, feed-in tariffs and long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). However, the exact profitability depends on factors such as the location, size and financing of the project.
A solar park is usually financed by a combination of equity and debt. Financing models include loans from banks, institutional investors or special project financing. In many cases, there are also government subsidy programs and favorable loans for renewable energies. In addition, GOLDBECK SOLAR also offers innovative models such as “Energy as a Service” (EaaS), where customers do not buy the system but use the energy generated as a service.
In principle, all industries with large roof areas should consider using them for photovoltaic systems or renting them out. Energy-intensive sectors such as the automotive industry, chemical and food processing, logistics centers as well as commercial and industrial parks benefit in particular. These industries can reduce their energy costs and improve their carbon footprint. Retail chains and warehouses also often have large areas that are well suited to solar energy.
An industrial or commercial solar roof offers considerable advantages: solar systems use roof space efficiently to generate electricity, reduce energy costs and enable additional income through feed-in tariffs. Solar roofs increase property value, help reduce CO2 emissions and offer independence from external energy suppliers. They are also low-maintenance and often benefit from subsidies and tax breaks.
A commercial roof must meet a number of technical and structural requirements in order to be suitable for a photovoltaic system. These include the statics, as the roof must be able to bear the additional load of the PV system, including the modules, mounting systems and possible snow loads. In addition, a sufficiently large, contiguous and unshaded area is necessary to make the installation economically viable. The roof should be in good structural condition in order to be able to withstand the entire service life of the system (25-30 years) without major repairs.
The payback period of an industrial PV system depends on various factors, including the investment costs, the feed-in tariff and the savings on your own electricity costs. As a rule, the amortization period is between six and ten years – depending on the general conditions. After that, the system generates free energy for many years. The return on the capital invested can be in the double-digit percentage range if the framework conditions and concept are optimal.
Repowering is the technical updating of your solar system and therefore an upgrade for your solar surface. Older solar modules are replaced with more powerful ones, for example, the substructures can be replaced with technically more modern solutions, and the inverter technology and digital technology are adapted to the current technical standard. Repowering therefore not only extends the service life of your solar system, it can also increase its performance and thus ensure that you get more out of your investment.
