Construction starts in Valladolid: GOLDBECK SOLAR celebrates ground-breaking for 29 MWp Zaratán solar park

GOLDBECK SOLAR, a leading provider in the turnkey construction of industrial, commercial and large-scale photovoltaic systems, is pleased to celebrate the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the Zaratán solar park together with Encavis. With a capacity of 29 MWp, this solar park marks GOLDBECK SOLAR’s largest project in Spain to date.

The Zaratán project will generate around 55,000 MWh of clean energy per year on a total area of 60 hectares and thus supply more than 18,000 households with green electricity every year. This will save around 10,000 tons of CO2 annually. For GOLDBECK SOLAR, the 29 MWp photovoltaic park is the largest project in Spain to date.

The solar park is being built in the municipality of Valladolid in the Castilla y León region, which offers optimal conditions for high levels of solar radiation and efficiency with an average of seven to eight hours of sunshine per day. A total of 45,450 bifacial solar modules and five inverters will be used. The solar park is scheduled to go into operation in May 2025.

The construction of the Zaratán solar park is an example of the successful and renewed cooperation between GOLDBECK SOLAR and Encavis, who share a common vision. “We are proud of the trust Encavis has placed in us and of the order for the turnkey construction of this important solar park. This project confirms our know-how and our commitment to environmental protection,” emphasizes Michiel Vanhoutte, COO of GOLDBECK SOLAR. “Thanks to Zaratán, around 18,000 households can be supplied with green electricity and CO2 emissions can be significantly reduced. Our goal is to create a green future, and this project brings us a big step closer to this goal.”
