CEE Group and GOLDBECK SOLAR commission 154-megawatt peak solar park in Döllen

The Hamburg-based CEE Group, an asset manager for renewable energies, and GOLDBECK SOLAR, a manufacturer of large-scale PV systems, have commissioned the Döllen solar park, currently one of the largest ground-mounted systems in Germany. The Döllen solar park has an installed capacity of 154.77 megawatts peak.

Around a year after the ground-breaking ceremony, the CEE Group and GOLDBECK SOLAR invited guests to the inauguration of the large-scale Döllen solar park project (in the municipality of Gumtow) in the district of Prignitz in Brandenburg on June 30, 2023. In addition to official representatives from the region, many local residents and representatives of the partners involved in the construction of the plant also accepted the invitation. As part of the inauguration ceremony, the park was put into operation with the symbolic connection of the “green plug” to the electricity grid. Afterwards, the guests had the opportunity to experience the dimensions and technology of the solar park for themselves on a guided tour. The Dressler architecture firm also presented the archaeological finds that were made on the site during the project.

Around 160,000 megawatt hours of “green electricity” per year

With an installed capacity of 154.77 MWp, the Döllen solar park will supply around 160,000 megawatt hours of “green electricity” per year in future, enough to power around 36,000 four-person households. The ground-mounted solar park is located on a former agricultural site in Döllen in the municipality of Gumtow (Prignitz district) and was planned, designed and built by GOLDBECK SOLAR GmbH, based in Hirschberg an der Bergstraße, in cooperation with Antlike Solar from Elmenhorst/Lichtenhagen. The project was financed by DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing GmbH & Co KG. Solar modules from Astronergy are installed in the system. The electricity from the solar park is fed into the grid of E.DIS Netz AG, a regional electricity distribution network operator for Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The transformer station in Schönhagen was also built for the solar park in cooperation with E.DIS.

Döllen solar park completed on schedule

“We are delighted that the solar park at the Döllen site has been commissioned on schedule. With a nominal output of 154.7 MWp, the project of this size is an important building block of the energy transition in Germany. We would like to thank everyone involved for their professional cooperation, which has proven its worth due to the current challenges of this mega project,” explains Detlef Schreiber, CEO of the CEE Group. “The seamless coordination of all trades was characterized by the high level of professionalism of all companies involved in this important project. We particularly appreciate this,” adds Frank Grafe, CIO of the CEE Group. Joachim Goldbeck, CEO of the GOLDBECK SOLAR Group, explains: “We are very proud that the Döllen solar park has been completed on schedule. Special challenges had to be overcome during the construction of the solar park, including those relating to the subsoil, weather conditions and the power supply during the realization of the project. In addition, the geopolitical events of recent months disrupted supply chains. This makes completion on schedule all the more impressive. This project is another example of our commitment to a sustainable and renewable energy future. We would like to thank the CEE Group and all the companies involved for their excellent cooperation.” The commercial law firm Taylor Wessing and the consulting firm 8.2 Obst & Ziehmann GmbH acted as legal and technical advisors on this transaction. Pexapark is providing support with regard to the marketing of electricity via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The PPA partner for the next ten years is ENGIE.
