“Anyone can play an active role in shaping the energy transition” – GOLDBECK SOLAR has been showing how it’s done for 20 years

GOLDBECK SOLAR is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and can look back on exciting projects during this time. The solar service provider has played an active role in shaping energy development over the past two decades and sees the energy transition as everyone’s responsibility.

Tobias Schüßler and Joachim Goldbeck with a symbolic 20The energy transition, and with it the switch to clean energy, is being driven forward more and more worldwide. Joachim Goldbeck also laid the foundations for this development with his company. Twenty years ago, he founded GOLDBECK SOLAR, which specializes in the planning and implementation of photovoltaic systems. This year, the Hirschberg-based EPC company is celebrating its anniversary. “20 years of working on the energy transition and the realization that you can build a sustainable company with a vision – that’s what GOLDBECK SOLAR shows,” begins Joachim Goldbeck. “For 20 years, we have been a family business that supports its employees and their families and takes them along on the journey.” He continues: “The decision at the time to become an entrepreneur in the field of green energy was absolutely right. The current developments now give us the certainty that we will be able to tackle the next few years with strength and new ideas so that the energy supply can be converted to 100% renewable energy in the long term.”

20 years: Employees are the most important success factor

Tobias Schüßler, Chief Operating Officer of the PV service provider, and Joachim Goldbeck see great merit in the employees. “The main value is the employees and colleagues who pool their individual knowledge and commitment in the team and thus make the company a strong and innovative partner for our customers,” says Joachim Goldbeck. Tobias Schüßler adds: “But the owner, who believes in the team and the industry, also plays an important role.” Over the past two decades, this expertise and commitment has resulted in some exciting projects such as the Akadyr Extension 2020 in Kazakhstan, NEEC in Murcia, the first ground-mounted project and the first project outside Germany in 2008, and Sandridge, the first project with a substation in 2016. A realization that you can build a sustainable company with a vision. A family business for 20 years that supports and inspires its employees and their families and takes them along on the journey Goldbeck and Schüßler attribute the success of recent years to the company’s curiosity and flexibility as well as the courage to break new ground. For GOLDBECK SOLAR, however, the journey is far from over. “We want to continue to use our market experience and seize new opportunities in the future,” says Joachim Goldbeck.

Everyone can play an active role in shaping the energy transition

This year’s agenda is therefore not just about celebrating the anniversary. Joachim Goldbeck has the following advice for customers and business partners: “Anyone can now participate in clean electricity generation in an economically viable way – as a producer with their own PV system, as an investor or simply as a customer who purchases clean electricity.” According to Tobias Schüßler, the energy transition will only work if everyone helps. “Solar is the cheapest source of electricity generation today, worldwide. We should therefore continue to work on this together.”
