A green belt for the region: these are our wishes for the expansion of the Hirschberg Süd industrial estate

It is a hotly debated topic: on March 14, the citizens of Hirschberg will decide whether or not the Hirschberg Süd industrial estate can be expanded. The concerns that another piece of nature is being concreted over here are understandable. However, GOLDBECK SOLAR’s plans for the area are not to erect concrete blocks here.

A healthy environment, sustainable business practices, investments in renewable energies: this is what GOLDBECK SOLAR has stood for since Joachim Goldbeck founded our company in Hirschberg 20 years ago. 120 employees work here to make the world a better place. And that includes the Hirschberg region. When a commercial area is to be expanded, it sounds like a lot of concrete at first. Where new buildings are erected, there is less space for fields and agriculture. On the other hand, companies that grow in a stable and healthy way and thus bring jobs and security to the region need space. Space that is available in the expansion of the Hirschberg Süd industrial estate. Because there is already a lot of misleading information in circulation, we want to explain to our neighbors in Hirschberg exactly what we intend to do with the area – if the citizens decide in favor of the expansion in mid-March.

Expansion and nature conservation in one

As a company, we at GOLDBECK SOLAR not only try to contribute to achieving climate targets and protecting nature with our solar systems. We develop concepts to minimize our impact on the environment. We would therefore like to create a green belt on the site of the expansion of the industrial estate. A mixture of industry and a relaxing park where you can unwind. We want to build a neighborhood garden with shared orchards and flower meadows, water and rainwater storage areas and ecological niches for small animals, birds and insects.

An enhancement of the area, which currently offers hardly any diversity. In addition, a self-sufficient energy supply is to be set up, a joint bio CHP plant.

Solar path and clean transportation

This would be possible on the site of the expansion of the Hirschberg Süd industrial estate. And much more besides. Instead of building separate parking areas for each business, as is usual in industrial estates, we want to build a central quality parking garage and make transportation within the industrial estate as clean as possible. Our employees have been using job bikes for this purpose for many years. E-bike rental stations could be set up in the Hirschberg Süd business park. A clever traffic concept with a connection to public transport will get Hirschberg residents there. The extension is to be upgraded with green areas and a solar path. The buildings will of course produce their own electricity.

A neighborhood for 20 years

You have known us as your neighbors for 20 years. If we are given space in the industrial estate expansion for the expansion of our company headquarters, we will build and manage the project completely ourselves. This means: little traffic, and when we do, it’s electric. Our vehicle fleet is environmentally friendly and electrified. We want a modern and green region, with a strong focus on biodiversity and environmental protection. GOLDBECK SOLAR is growing every year. Not only are we building more and more systems worldwide, we are also expanding our company in Hirschberg. And we want to stay in Hirschberg and offer local people sustainable jobs. We want to achieve all of this – with your help! For a future worth living – worldwide and at home.
