Postomino solar park

Discover the 90 MWp solar park in Postomino, Poland – with the country’s first cable pooling system integrated into a 110 kV high-voltage line and located next to an operating wind farm. As EPC, GOLDBECK SOLAR was responsible for the complete implementation, from engineering and construction to grid connection.

Network concept & system integration

The power is fed into the grid via cable pooling at 110 kV, one of the first solutions of its kind in Poland. The PV power plant uses the existing connection capacity of the Marszewo wind farm:

  • >7 km 110 kV underground cable in cable pooling configuration to the existing 110 kV overhead line of the Marszewo wind farm
  • Automatic energy management: If the connected capacity of the wind farm is not fully utilized, the PV system is automatically switched on

A modern control and monitoring system coordinates the joint operation of the PV and wind systems. The system is installed in the newly constructed transformer station (GPO) of the PV system.

Technical scope of services

Among other things, the following were realized as part of the investment:

  • Photovoltaic plant with 90 MW installed capacity
  • Two-segment 20 kV medium-voltage switchgear with 20 bays
  • Two 50 MVA 110/20 kV power transformers incl. 110 kV transformer panels
  • 110 kV line field
  • Power factor correction via two STATCOM units with 11 MVAr each
  • >7 km 110 kV underground cable (cable pooling) to the existing 110 kV overhead line of the wind farm

Result & added value

The successful implementation of the MIX Marszewo project was made possible by the excellent cooperation between the investor, contractor, subcontractors, planning teams and HSE services – with the common goal of realizing the project safely, on time and on budget. Postomino delivers large-scale, predictable generation and demonstrates how PV and wind infrastructure can work together efficiently via cable pooling. The project strengthens regional security of supply, reduces emissions and sets a technical benchmark for hybrid grid connections.

Benefits at a glance

  • Efficient use of existing Grid Connections through cable pooling (110 kV)
  • More stable generation profile through coordinated PV/wind control
  • ~ 96 GWh/year renewable energy
  • Supply of up to 32,000 households
  • ~ 61,223 t CO₂/year less
  • Resource-efficient grid connection (cable pooling)
  • Role model for other major projects with shared infrastructure
