With the energy of the sun and a clear commitment to sustainability

GOLDBECK SOLAR publishes first ESG report for the 2024 financial year

Environmental awareness, social commitment and sustainable business practices are essential building blocks for the future. Since its foundation in 2001, GOLDBECK SOLAR has pursued the vision of efficient use of solar energy and has deeply embedded sustainability in its corporate DNA. With the publication of the first ESG report, the company is underpinning its commitment with transparent and measurable targets from 2025. Despite the EU Commission’s proposed changes to the CSRD, EU Taxonomy and CSDDD, GOLDBECK SOLAR remains true to its strategy and long-term goals. By voluntarily publishing the report, the company reaffirms its sustainability mission as an integral part of its corporate governance.

Responsibility as a corporate principle

Sustainability is a living reality for GOLDBECK SOLAR. “We want to clearly communicate our comprehensive commitment to a sustainable future,” emphasizes Joachim Goldbeck, CEO of GOLDBECK SOLAR.“Sustainability is a fundamental foundation of our corporate values and we take our responsibility towards society and nature seriously. At the same time, we recognize that this is only possible with a profitable business model. As a family business, we focus on long-term solutions. I am convinced that cost-effective and CO2-neutral power generation through photovoltaics is a key component of the energy transition. Personally, I am particularly keen to play an active role in shaping and driving forward the transformation towards a sustainable society.”

The specialist for large-scale photovoltaic systems on open spaces and industrial roofs has defined ten specific ESG goals that are closely aligned with the UNSustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

Sustainability as a corporate foundation

Since its foundation in 2001, GOLDBECK SOLAR has grown internationally and is now active in 12 markets – with a constant mission: to generate clean energy through solar power and to operate sustainably. The company not only pursues ecological goals, but is also actively committed to social and economic justice. With its ten ESG goals, GOLDBECK SOLAR contributes directly to eleven of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Holistic strategy for a sustainable future

GOLDBECK SOLAR consciously integrates environmental, social and corporate governance aspects into its ESG strategy. In addition to CO2 reduction and the expansion of renewable energies, the focus is on the protection of biodiversity, fair working conditions and the promotion of the circular economy. The company also invests specifically in research, innovation and education projects in order to actively drive forward the sustainable transformation. The report highlights the company’s key sustainability initiatives, achievements and progress and presents environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities to promote transparency and improve processes at all levels.

With its first ESG report, GOLDBECK SOLAR is sending a clear signal of responsibility, transparency and progress – and remains true to its claim of helping to shape the future sustainably.

Note on the omnibus package on sustainability:

Despite the current uncertainties surrounding the proposals published by the EU Commission to amend the CSRD, we remain committed to our sustainability strategy and our long-term goals. We are aware of the evolving regulatory landscape and the associated challenges. However, we will continue to integrate sustainability as a core principle in our operations.
