Stadskanaal is the fourth GOLDBECK SOLAR project that the EPC company will carry out with Chint Solar. Construction is already in full swing so that the solar park can be connected to the grid in fall 2020.
Completion planned for fall 2020
As with the Midden-Groningen solar park, Chint Solar is relying on the experience of GOLDBECK SOLAR for its next project, which will once again act as the Group’s general contractor. The new solar park is to be built on an area of more than 100 hectares near Groningen and will ultimately have an installed capacity of 101 MWp. Astronergy mono Perc half cut modules with 410 watts will again be used for this. As with the Midden-Groningen solar park, GOLDBECK SOLAR is once again relying on Greencells as a partner to successfully implement this ambitious project. The ground-breaking ceremony in March marked the start of the solar park, which is to be completed and connected to the grid within eight months. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, the coordination of numerous trades is essential to enable the grid connection in October. Astronergy is therefore once again working with ABB on the grid connection side.
“Several solar parks have already been built and commissioned for Chint Solar in the Netherlands. We appreciate Chint’s trust in our experience with the complete EPC and O+M service of multi-megawatt solar parks and look forward to connecting Stadskanaal within the planned time,” summarizes Tobias Friedrich, Head of Solar Netherlands at GOLDBECK SOLAR.
Green energy for at least 50,000 households
After successful completion in fall 2020, Stadskanaal, together with Buinerveen, will have a total capacity of 146 MWp. This makes the project the largest in the BeNeLux countries to have a direct connection point to the TenneT high-voltage grid. Once the solar park is officially opened, it will supply at least 50,000 households in the Netherlands with green energy. This will reduce annualCO2 emissions by 60,000 tons.
