With a view to the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD), GOLDBECK SOLAR is formulating a clear course for the sustainable expansion of renewable energies in Europe.
“We all benefit from a planet worth living on. That is why measures to protect our planet must be priced in by national or multinational institutions and risks must be hedged by the public sector,” says Joachim Goldbeck, CEO of GOLDBECK SOLAR in the run-up to the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD.23). From March 28 to 29, the conference will focus on the topic of “Energy Transition – Securing a Green Future” and bring together decision-makers from business, politics and society. GOLDBECK SOLAR, with more than 2,000 MWp of installed capacity in 20 countries worldwide, is contributing to this dialog.
“The BETD and the Berlin Energy Week form global platforms between the governments of the participating countries and the private sector, in which challenges in the search for the best solutions for the energy transition are actively discussed.” But the discussion must not stop there. A clear forward strategy is needed at all levels in order to advance the energy industry in Europe, make it independent and make it sustainable.
In his view, the goals must be:
These goals are to be underpinned by forward-looking support for exports to non-European countries and the promotion of solar reindustrialization. “Political decisions caused sales in the solar industry to plummet by as much as 90 percent between 2010 and 2014,” explains Joachim Goldbeck. “Only now, a good ten years later, has the sector recovered. With the EEG 2023 and the amendment to the EEG 2021, the federal government has removed some major hurdles for the rooftop sector. The changes to the EEG and the abolition of the EEG surcharge simplify matters and make rooftop PV systems more attractive. But w e have to keep at it now.”
As President of the German Solar Industry Association, Goldbeck is committed to a future-oriented dialog with politicians. He has traveled in business delegations with Federal Environment Minister Robert Habeck to Africa and with Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to Central Asia.
As part of the BETD, Joachim Goldbeck takes part in the 28.3. um 16.30 an einer Gesprächsrunde zum Thema „SIDS – Small Islands Developing States“ part.
